Under the weather but back at it.

Good Evening Everyone,

Again, my apologies for the absence. I had not been feeling well for quite some time, and this summer, was by far the worst I had felt. I took it that I was still recuperating from my care giving duties but was getting increasingly more ill, and then could not keep food down and was in a lot of pain.  I, reluctantly went to the Doctor, and went in for some testing, including imaging, and blood work, and come to find out, my Gallbladder was running at a poor 6%. Its supposed to run at around 35%. No wonder I felt bad. I was very concerned as I have had thyroid cancer in 1998 and worried that I had liver or some other cancer. In June, I had a colonoscopy and had one very small pre cancer that was taken out.  So, September 8th, I had surgery, and am now just starting to be able to sit and do some things. I am just now starting to drive again. Driving was a little painful, hitting bumps in the road. The Doctor thought that all the stress of care giving had finally caught up with me and I am now paying the fiddler.  I am hoping that I start healing and get on with life.

Other than that, very little going on at home. D is still disabled from his bull encounter, and work comp is still playing games. He has a new attorney, the other pulled out from under him, and we had to scramble to find a new qualified attorney. We did, and its pretty much square one again.  Its a tiresome game.

Our community is going down the loo, so to speak.  The Agriculture business, which is the heartbeat in our State is failing, corn and wheat prices are very weak, the railroad is laying off employees, and our town is now just a pool of dead water.  I know I think I mentioned that we talked about moving, but since D's work comp is not settled, and the real estate market is poor here now, I doubt we could sell the house. So we're making the best of it here as well as we can. At least we have a roof over the head and my sewing brings in a little income, so I can pay bills and put food on the table.  A Blessing that I'm getting well and hopefully stay that way.

I hope that all of you are doing well.  I have missed blogging, but sewing takes a lot of my time to make a living, so that has to come first. But I finished up sewing projects  yesterday, and I thought before I rest for the night, I would pop in, say "hi" and that I'm still here.
I miss all of you and what all of you have been up to.  I hope to keep up with all, since I feel better.

Well, I'm tired, a unfortunate side effect from surgery, its getting better, but I tire pretty easy, so I will bid all a good evening, and a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Love and Hugs to All

  2. Denim, glad to hear that you are on the way to recovery. Life sure has given you a help of issues to deal with. I know how draining care giving can be. I cared for an ailing wife for over ten years. Two jobs were needed to meet the medical bills. I hope and pray that your health will be totally restored soon and the workman's comp will be settled to your satisfaction.

As for me, I'm still caring for an aging mother in law. She's 90 but still lives on her own. I'm help a neighbor with bad eye sight to get to his doctor appointments and errands that need to be done. My cousin was promoted up into management where she works so I've taken on the responsibility to was her old (17) dog twice a day since she works long days and can't get home to do it herself. My daughter (32) and grandson (12)still are living with me which keeps me hopping with them. So, yeah, life stays active here as well.

I'm so glad to hear from you and hope things will continue to improve in your life.

    1. Hi, Dave, yep, i'm still going. I just hoping I get on the mend. I'm tired of being sick.
You are busy too. I take care of my neighbor's dogs too during the week. He lost his wife to cancer this July and its no big deal to let them out.
Thank you for the response, and I will try to blog more.
      Take care, friend.

  3. Good to hear from you again. Hang in there. I'm glad that your health problem was as simple to fix as gallbladder surgery. I've had mine out too and haven't missed it. Stress does take its toll, and it seems yours just keeps on coming. Hopefully this new lawyer will get Worker's Comp sorted and life will let up on you for a while. At least you can get income from your sewing. That's a positive thing.

I lost two of my three kitties earlier this year, one to age in April and one to kidney disease in May and am down to one very fat boy. I've moved again, from an apartment with people living overhead to a duplex with a very quiet lady living next door, and the peace and quiet is so welcome. My mom turned 92 this year, and thankfully she's still very much alert, active and independent. She still drives and lives on her own. I'm so thankful for that.

I hope you and D can catch a break very soon and get some relief very soon and that you'll get some peace and relaxation.

    1. Hi, WOL,
I have been able to keep up with you through email on your blog. I am so very sorry for your loss of the kitties. I lost a few this last year, including Dexter, who is on my blog page.
I hope you enjoy your new digs. I know it isn't quite what you were looking for, but sometimes we have to grow where we are planted.
      Take care

  4. Basically - what they said! I hope that you mend fully soon and healing thoughts are coming your way. I am not surprised that the Doc thought that the levels of stress you were under have caused your health problems. I hope your husband can get the work compensation he is due, SOON.

I am glad you are fit enough to do sewing and bring a few dollars in. My thoughts are with you. (((HUGS))) Jennie xx

  5. Dear denim, you have had way more than your share of troubles. I hope things will start looking up for you and D. Stress can do very harmful things to our bodies.

You sound very upbeat now. Bless you.

May things continue upward. I do hope D's issue gets resolved favorably.
