You...Hi - I wandered over from Sharon's blog.

You don't need to bomb the house for fleas. If you don't have a major problem with them coming in from outside, a couple of months of advantage should do the trick. If you have more serious ongoing problems, a spray that contains an insect growth regulator will do a better job. A problem with the bombs is that unless you turn over and lift things up, they don't get to the right area. A direct application spray can be used to get under furniture instead of raining down on it.

I haven't used anything more than a sudsy bath, a flea comb, a two month course of advantage, and some extra vacuuming to disturb any eggs and get them to hatch out faster in the interim for years now. I've got a houseful of critters of various types, so this isn't just someone with a single pet making the suggestion. :) I also use a 1 cc syringe to break up the larger tubes of advantage - I needed to do it anyway for the pocket pets. If you do it, just make sure you have the correct doses for the size and double check your measurements.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10026907877673492940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5947599876960559348.post-37276949200222027122010-11-07T07:30:32.246-06:002010-11-07T07:30:32.246-06:00You sound like me. I move from job to job and finally have to stop and think what it was I originally started doing...and go back and finish it.

I still haven't cleaned out the bottom freezer drawer....not my favorite thing to do but it must be done.gldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03645803822598151817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5947599876960559348.post-71201131622386428732010-11-06T19:36:21.832-05:002010-11-06T19:36:21.832-05:00With the frequent moves we have made [from one hou...With the frequent moves we have made [from one house to another that husband built--we lived in several while they were on the market] you would think we had weeded out all the unnecessary STUFF.
Not so. If I recover from all this canning there are stacks of boxes and bins to be rummaged and sorted.
In 8 months of being here we've not finished renovating either indoors or out. Nearly done inside and maybe we can figure out some graceful arrangements of furniture.
Yes, with pets there is always "something." I've been nursing a dear old cat through a bout of [hold on here!] ringworm. I was horrified by the diagnosis but our vet said it is a fungus that lurks everywhere.
Praying that the rest of the felines [and their owners] do not succumb.Morning's Minionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912356455981434029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5947599876960559348.post-32442188122817239102010-11-06T18:12:32.759-05:002010-11-06T18:12:32.759-05:00Decluttering is freeing. We have 4 girls, so I mix up 2 cups of dry, with a couple of tbs. of wet, plus 2 tsps of brewers yeast and a little water. Sometimes I add some fish oil. The fleas are not on our girls, 3 are in our small barn, they don't go outside of it, and the other one is an outdoor girl and visits us indoors. I read about brewers yeast online and thought I'd give it a try. So try it, as it will be good for them, not some chemical that they will have to deal with.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Enjoy your weekend.

FlowerLadyFlowerLady Lorrainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17678852154334714784noreply@blogger.com
