    Just how big is the slow food movement in America now?

  2. I'm not sure BB. At the current moment, with the economic problems and job loss here, and in my own community.
    When I go to the farmer's market and when I go to buy my meat at the place where my rancher is, people are buying, but are careful "what" they buy. Then you go to the big box stores like our super Walmart and people are still buying the cheap, processed boxes of food.
    I buy both slow food, and also some boxed things as things have changed in my situation where I am dealing with parents who do not want to eat now, and if I can make things that are easy for me, but yet still add some healthy options to it, I will do so.
    I guess, its a rock and a hard place, cheap vs. healthy, whole food that is affordable.
    I have noticed that surfing and sandbagging blogs, young people and others who have lived on processed food are finding that it doesn't last the whole month and they are seeking answers to how to cope with this, when all it takes is a little time in menu planning, and how to get the best mileage out of certain meat, grain, and produce options with leftovers to do something else with for another meal or meals.
