More control on community gardens and your own

I will try to start posting regularly, but until then, please go to http://www.urbanorganicgardner.com/
Please scroll down to read the article about the USDA requiring registration of the People's Garden, which will, I sure lead to registration of all community gardens and then your own.
I am getting more and more information that this is coming down to total contol of food and who gets it and by what means.
Until then, have a great week and I will try to post more regularly.  I still have not felt up to snuff yet, but I'm getting there.
Hugs

  1. The People's Garden is a USDA PROJECT...they are encouraging their employees and government employess to put in food gardens at their worksites. It's not the people's garden (private)..funny. By the way if you your Community Garden gets any government funding and/or grants you should expect to be registered by the USDA...they funded your project (or you and I did with our tax $$$) and they want to make sure the $$$'s are being used the way the funded grant stated. You need to GOOGLE The People's Garden Project.

  2. Dear Denim ~ You've been in my thoughts and prayers lately. So glad to read something from you.

In this life, we have to learn to take what comes to us each day, and know that each day is a gift, and do the best we can. This is something that I deal with each and every day, so I'm not just spouting, I'm living. We get dealt all kinds of curve-balls in this life. There are glorious lessons to be learned, and much more living to be lived, whether it's in mil-i-seconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years.

Be well, may your gardens be fruitful, and may you and your loved ones, including critters, grow ever closer.

    Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady

  3. Glad you're on the mend...do you need me to send you some mint and some chamomile flowers so you can make a nice tea? Stay warm and hydrated!

  4. I couldn't get the link to work, but will try again later.

I think government is getting into our personal lives way too much. I can't imagine the regulation of private gardens.

    Glad you are improving.

  5. I skimmed the article and didn't get the sense of private gardeners having to register any info. This sounds like a more sophisticated version of community gardens, maybe?
You would think neighborhood gardens could be managed without input from officials in the government. I'm not into conspiracy theories but I think I might object, at least mildly, to being part of a data base.
