Good Morning everyone,
I hope that all of you are OK, if I have readers from the south, I pray you are OK and getting through the turmoil of storms. My heart goes to the south for the devastating destruction it has left.
I apologise for the lengthy away time I was. But I had a very un-nerving and then anger filled few weeks.
I will not go into great detail about this little bru-ha-ha, but the trashy neighbors who are to the south of me accused me of graffiti on the back of the crappy trailer they live in. The accusations flew, the cops called, evidence checked, and then as quickly as the finger pointing came, everything went. OH yes, these people also accused me of window peeking.
This happened sometime between last Tuesday night or very early Wednesday morning, the words "move" was spray painted on the back of the trailer. Now I will tell you, that yes, I was inquiring about these people, and I was told that the man who suddenly moved in with this woman was very violent, which he is, as I had seen him punch this woman down the stairs and the screaming that comes from this trailer. But, unfortunately, living in a shit hole town such as this place, if you even want to call it a town, if you ask anything, eventually it will get around.
I am sure that these people have baggage that they moved with from their previous digs. I was told that they were evicted from the last residence for non payment and the violence. I also learned another larger lesson..don't ask about things and be careful WHO you ask. Since this 3 groups of people who have moved into this area came, we have had nothing but people coming and going and strange things going on in the air and around the neighborhood.
I was so very angry about this, and I was angry as I had a cop here, which when we do have them, they treat you like the trailer park trash they think you are. This cop was brash, and condescending. I told him, that I am not exactly well, and have other things to do besides paint things on wall, and peek into windows.
The other thing that angered me was the owner was right along blaming me for all of the social ills that he puts here. So I did go to his place of business and lit into the middle of them and told them to leave me alone and to step up to the plate and YOU be responsible for what you put over here, and that they were not going to pin the crap onto me. I then had to go and talk to my attorney, which I cannot afford, and discuss my options and at the moment, we are just sitting and seeing what will come about, which is all I can do at the moment.
Then the old, " I can't have a garden or flowers" bit came up again, as this trailer park trash have kids that are allergic to bees, and I told the owner to shove it. Bees and bugs are in the environment and I can't control the world or the bugs so I told him to tell these people to get a life, if they even know what that is and then mentioned I had council with my attorney and whether he wanted to press on with the attorney, which he backed off and said he hates attorneys and shut up from there.
I wish I could move, but it costs a fortune to move. I was pondering selling the modular back to the owner, but currently, I am not in a position to do so, so I have just concluded that I will with draw into my home, I moved my garden area to the north side, brought my blue buckets around and will pull them into my garden area, and just take it one day at a time.
I recalled another blogging friend, who I will mention, FlowerLady from FlowerLady's Musings had something similar to my dilemma, the shitty neighbors and the trash that seems to walk upon the urban areas now. We are seeing this now here where I live as it seems since the news had been mentioning that the middle states are doing better than other parts of the country because of the economy, we are now seeing all manor of people, all colors, coming here to live, thinking we have jobs and places to live, which is far from the truth. Along with this urban crap that is moving into the area, they bring their urban problems and social issues which we are not really prepared to deal with here. Issues with color and cultures. When people move here, they cannot deal with the idea that there is nothing to do here. We have no anything to go to or clubs or night life that they had before. This is a very low paying state, which you will find part time work, IF you can find work, and way below minimum wage and I mean way below, most pay is around anywhere from $4 an hour to $6 and that's it. And maybe 15-20 hrs a week if you are lucky. And forget about housing, its not here, except places like where I live, where I would not let a dog live in some of the places this owner has to rent out. And on top, he charges $600 a month for the dumps to boot.
So, I have been extremely depressed, and almost afraid to go out, worrying that if something else happens, I will be the first to get nailed because I am the target. I am amazed that I, who mind my own business, am now the enemy of this place who lives among drug dealers and general shit of the lower population.
So, I have been trying to work inside, I am getting ready to paint some rooms and just general fix up so just in case, IF I decide to sell my investment of the modular back to the idiot owner, I can, and be done with it. But at the moment, I am holding my ground.
Currently, I put in my berry canes, in small containers to see if they grow. I put my dwarf blueberry's in the larger containers and will see how they do. I will try to get onions in some containers, and I haven't even started on the area for my tomatoes and cucumbers yet. We had a beautiful day yesterday, into the low 70's but this morning, it is chilly and very windy. Personally, I have not felt like gardening at all now. I have lost my desire to garden, period. Funny how quickly everything turns to ca-ca.
Well, I think that I have pissed and moaned enough, so I will take leave and wish all of you a wonderful gardening weekend, and we will try to post later.
Hugs
This new home is the book, the pages are the days to come and my life are the words.

Snow all gone
Good Morning everyone,
I hope that all are having a great week and getting gardening and home matters going and in order.
We are unfortunately in a very unsettled spring/cold pattern that is very wet, and it borders with snow and rain and sleet, very drippy so say the least.
I am SOOOO very behind in gardening. In fact it is pretty bad. Too wet to do anything, and my problem is here where I live, the owners do nothing about the water and standing water that is around. This park is not code ready or even close. It is very uneven ground, and has never been leveled or maintained at all so we have nothing but water, water. And nothing can be done about it as the owners will not do anything anyway.
I am hoping that if it dries out some, I will bring my blue tubs around the front and work under the carport and get my strawberry roots in at least. I have got to do this in the next day or two or I will loose them. I will keep them around my north side for now, and move them later to the back for the sun. I also have to put in some shallots and a few onions, but it has been so wet and muddy, I cannot even get through the back to have my garden man come and roto till my spot. I am afraid it is going to be like last year, where it was a cool summer to start out and I had to use greenhouse plastic on and off throughout the summer for anything to get going. Everything was very late, in mid August and September and some of my tomatoes clear into October. It was crazy.
I thought I would post some after photos of the no snow thing. The snow started to melt Saturday afternoon, and by Sunday, it was gone. The only nice thing about spring snow storms, it goes quickly.
Really not much else going on, being so wet and cold. You just cannot get out to do anything. But I will start to work my strawberries and shallots at least. I know we need the moisture, but it sure puts a damper on gardening when you do depend on what you grow. And I am afraid that I will be unable to use the south side of my trailer because of the new south people who moved in. We had the cops there Sunday afternoon, three cars to be exact, and it got a little ugly. I didn't even know about it, (I was cleaning house, and had the shop vac going and I couldn't hear anything anyway) but one of my house neighbors called me that she called the cops as the male was beating the woman and the kids as they were going out the door, so I am going to just garden to my north and I will have to spray weeds on the south and not do anything until they are kicked out or move. The male is violent and I am not going to be on the receiving end. I will tell you if I ever was, you would probably be reading my blog in prison as I would hurt him real bad....
Anyway, I am trying to catch up with laundry and things I didn't get done while I was ill, so I will talk to everyone later, and have a great week.
Hugs

Now for your viewing pleasure, snow
A few pictures of snow, probably shouldn't even show it. I think that everyone who lives in snow country has seen quite enough, but really this should be gone in a few days, its wet and heavy and sloppy and it is starting to melt as I blog.
I had to get some new batteries for my digital camera, I will post a few more photos so you can get a chuckle.
Take care all and hugs

Snow, Snow, go away
Good Morning Everyone,
Well, we had one of those whopper Spring blizzards, we generally get one or two of these every year. What a mess. I had one hell of a time getting out of the front door, and opening up my poly zipped cover I have around my porch that is on the North side of the house. I am not sure HOW much snow, but the winds were 50-65 mph during the night and I have 3-4 ft drifts around the house. (It just came over the radio, we had a inch of rain and an average of 4-6 inches of snow, but with the winds, it really drifted).
I will get out this afternoon and open up my steps and porch and post some snowy, white photos, for your enjoyment, LOL. I don't think that my chives and walking onions are laughing at the moment, though.
Right at the moment, the sun is shining, and it is raining east of us in Kearney, to Omaha,. This storm is a very slow mover, what makes it bad is the wind.
So, other than that, there isn't much to talk about, definitely can't get out in the garden, unless you want to grow snow tomatoes or something that can take the cold. I covered my greens and lettuces a few days ago, covered my Asparagus, and I put my berry canes in pots under my car port and covered them with blankets. Hopefully they will be ok.
I want to take the time to thank all of you for well wishes and get well's. It has been many years, really since I had my cancer surgery 13 years ago, that I have been so ill and droopy. And to be honest, I didn't really take to heart how run down I was, no wonder I could not get moving, and then to get the flu and really run down was a low point for me, but I am improving every day, I see strength returning everyday, and take it one day at a time. Again, thank you for all of your love, prayers, thoughts, it means so very much to me, and hugs and love to all of you. I guess, I have so many to look after, that I forgot to take care of me, which sounds selfish, but if you don't take care of you, you cannot take care of business, or family, or commitments as there is no one else to do it. So take it from me, make sure you all take care of your selves.
Well, I am going to start to get dressed, somewhere I need to find my boots, (somewhere), and I need to find a sweat shirt somewhere also, think those are put in the closet so got to dig those out. My snow removal guy should be around later today or tomorrow, but I want to get some photos so you can laugh at me and my snowy world.
Take care all, have a great weekend, and hugs.

I'm still here, again
Good Morning everyone,
I first want to thank all of you for the get well's, I really appreciated it. I feel very loved.
I will try to fill you in on a few things that have unfortunately popped up while I was ill and I am trying to sit back and think about things and how and what I need to do to face them and tackle.
First, I needed to go to my GP physician, which I am proud to say I don't visit too very often. I cannot afford them in the first place, BUT, this may throw a wrench in the machinery. I went last Friday, and had to do my annual blood panels which I have been unable to do for several years. Again, cost and also taking care of elderly parents and other things that I can only do. I am supposed to go every year on my cancer anniversary, well being sick didn't help either. What ever type of flu this was really knocked me on my butt, and threw my whole system off into the four winds. Second, I was wore out completely, Doc asked me what in the hell have I been doing to bring blood work to the table looking like what I had, I told him and then an ass chewing that lasted for a half hour. My thyroid was bottomed out completely, at 0.4. I have had to take generic thyroid medication, which for me, doesn't work, as it doesn't stay stable in my body, but I can afford it. It boiled down to being totally wore out. I also have had and on again, off again sinus infection and ear infection that I battle constantly.
My second blow is that my blood work showed some possible cancer markers, now, first, doc and I aren't real sure if its from me totally being wore out, and then being sick and it flared up everything including platelets and white count, or what. So, what doc wants is for me to get healthy first, like he told me, " I cannot send you to the oncologist sick, you must get well and rest, and take care of yourself, or else...... then I will visit the oncologist around July to get more testing done.
This is something I really don't need. First, we really do not have access to good medical care, second, when you are one of me, meaning poor white trailer park trash, you are limited as to what you get here. It has always been like this, and always will be. It is the facts of life here. So, I am trying to mull things around as to what to do, and how to tackle things.
I do know that my garden plans are going into the loo for this year. I am starting to work in the garden again, a little bit at a time, I get very tired and wore out from even a half hour in the garden, but I have started a small garden in the back of my lot where I can grow a few things, and I can take care of it without help. I will also be doing containers where I can take care of my herbs and some peppers and a few other types of easy plants. I have a place in the new raised bed behind in the back yard for cucumbers. My mushroom bed will have to wait till maybe fall. I have had to resort to bringing my garden area to the north side of the trailer because of new people that are moved in on my south side, and they are not too nice.
I am not even sure of Farmer's market this year. We have a meeting Thursday at noon, and I will see what has changed, what new laws are now in place from the USDA and the powers that be. I have been told the rules are numerous and are costly, which if they are, I will not be participating, I have enough expense going on as it is.
What breaks my heart is my elderly chef clients have had to go without some things. I just have been unable to do anything, as it physically wears me out. They have been like troopers and totally understand, and a few have taken what I taught them, meaning doing some marathon cooking and then wrapping and sealing meals like TV dinners and they have been getting by and are eating on the weekends.
I should take my own healthy eating words to heart, I was malnourished also, doc was furious, but as I told him, that since the flu, food just did not even smell good to me. I am now just starting to be able to eat baked chicken and steamed veggies without having a gag reflex. I do know that I have to eat very small meals several times a day, morning is the worse for me, so its very light, yogurt, toast, maybe a granola cereal, and maybe a hard boiled egg, that's it. Lunch is a small sandwich, like tuna salad or chicken salad, in rye bread or a pita. Then by dinner, I can handle food better. I also was given a prescription, (yes) prescription for Ensure, as I was told by my doctor that the state will give me this with a prescription to help me out, which is nice, so I am also on Ensure twice a day to help bring my mineral and vitamin stores up to specs before July. And of course, its chocolate, what else could it be. lol
My other problem is, that the owners of the park where I live, I think have gone AWOL or batty in the brain. They placed some people next to me to the south that are weird, and come to find out from one of my house neighbors, the man that lives there is violent. I will tell you that they are a mixed race couple and I won't go any further than that. I will tell you when that is done, we have nothing but big trouble in little China here when races are mixed which we have had in the past. I went to the owners last week, and told them that if there are any problems what so ever, I will seek legal help from my attorney as to holding my own space and being able to live safely here, then I called my attorney and told him the health issues and the issues here I have going and all we are doing now is just standing by and seeing what comes of it, that it all I can do anyway.
I assure you, I really don't care about color, all I want is to be able to enjoy my home, and play in the garden, but I have had past issues where it got dangerous. We have had blood baths with mixed races when parties were going and we have a black man almost killed in the back when he crashed a party that was going on, when I first moved here. So I guess for now, I will just mind my own business and go from there.
So anyway, I don't want to cry about anything, That's not what I am about. I just thought I had better blog to let everyone know I am still up and around causing hate and discontent. lol I will be concentrating on getting well and then face the enemy with open eyes. I pray that it is nothing but wore out, but I will just have to take one bridge and one mountain at a time.
From everyone's blogs I am reading, everyone is in the gardens and plantin' away. I have heard on our local news that we may have another snow storm on the way for Friday, Nothing new, that is why I have been careful about what I am placing out. I have lettuces and asparagus out and it is covered, so its ok, but anything else, forget it. It has been very cold and rainy and dreary here. We get a few days of nice, warm weather, it was 77 here yesterday, but now today it will be around 50 so we just are not out of winter yet. Maybe someday, we will get to spring, but generally its winter, then instant summer.
Well, I think that I have been depressing enough, I wish everyone a wonderful week, I will try to blog later in the week, I really don't have much to blog about with no gardening going on, but I will probably have snow pictures to show you.
Until then, have a great and wonderful week and weekend.
Hugs

More control on community gardens and your own
I will try to start posting regularly, but until then, please go to http://www.urbanorganicgardner.com/
Please scroll down to read the article about the USDA requiring registration of the People's Garden, which will, I sure lead to registration of all community gardens and then your own.
I am getting more and more information that this is coming down to total contol of food and who gets it and by what means.
Until then, have a great week and I will try to post more regularly. I still have not felt up to snuff yet, but I'm getting there.
Hugs
